ACS Releases 2012 Guidelines for Nutrition and Physical Activity Cancer Prevention

Rather than focus on particular nutrients, the new ACS guidelines have evolved, with evidence, to focus on healthy dietary patterns.  The guidelines include recommendations for healthy behaviours to reduce risk, including:

  • achieve and maintain a healthy weight throughout life
  • adopt a physically active lifestyle
  • consume a healthy diet, with an emphasis on plant foods
  • limit consumption if you drink alcoholic beverages
