Do you see yourself stuck, like rock in a river with life moving around you? Or do you see yourself as the river, flowing around obstacles, like the rock?
OK, I am getting a little "woo woo" today, but for a good reason. I have always loved this quote, because movement connects us to life, which is ever changing and never stagnant. Movement is strong and focused and physical yet can align so directly with the spiritual. I was inspired by a piece I read from Vishwasaha (a yoga master and faculty member at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles) and wanted to share some of her teachings on this exact quote. You can learn more about her at http://vishwasaha.wordpress.com
Feeling stuck? Confused about the next step to take? Bring a little bit of movement into your present moment. See everything is flowing, moving, evolving, changing and shifting. When we feel stuck we may be holding on to something that may not be serving us.
Let us move with existence. Let us move like the changing of the seasons. Let us move like the ocean tides. Remember we too are nature and not separate from it. We too change, age and grow. Allow for change. This change is life.
New directions and solutions are everywhere we just need to be open to allow for them. Bring in a dose of fresh air to the routine. And it's as simple as taking a walk without a destination. Take a dance class. Try a yoga video, something new to connect with your body!
When we are open to change, movement and flow the answers will find us. When we let go, relax and open to the flow the answers just come. And know that no one else knows your answers!
When we open up to something new our habits shift and we can begin to see many other possible ways for living our lives. We get unstuck. We move along. We shake it out. It's simple and it works, try it!
