Women Living With Cancer - United Congregational Church
Bridgeport, CT
The CT Challenge, in partnership with Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach Initiatives, conducts a cancer support group at The United Congregational Church in Bridgeport, CT, aimed at reaching under-served women living with cancer.
We strive to provide these women a community of support, where they can come together to share their experience, strength, fear and hope with one another, while also providing information about the tools and resources that are available to them to help them.
The group meets once a week for 10-12 weeks and incorporates emotional support as well as yoga, meditation, nutritional education and specialized talks from medical professionals. The CT Challenge provides both a meal and childcare for group members.
The group is led by Kate Lieder, a breast cancer survivor and a marriage and family therapist, with the help of Eleanor McCormick, Director of Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach Initiatives and Julie Royster, also a marriage and family therapist. If you are interested in participating, or know of someone who would benefit, please contact us.
