CT Challenge Team Survivor 2011

Mike Smith, Captain

CT Challenge Team Survivor

Mike Smith, 23, is a two year cancer survivor, a swimmer, rower, and now a CT Challenge Survivor Athlete.  Since being diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma in 2008, a rare and aggressive form of non-hodgkins lymphoma, Mike, who is now cancer free, has dedicated himself to raising awareness and money for cancer research and survivorship.

Mike's involvement with the Connecticut Challenge began in 2009, when he rode in his first CT Challenge Bike Ride. Read Mike's Why I Ride story.

Mike will be competing at athletic events all around the country in Outrigger Canoeing, Cycling, and the Half Full Tri, a 70 mile race for the 70,000 young adults (18-40) diagnosed with cancer every year.
