St. Vincent’s Cancer Survivor Breakfast
December 1, 2009
This morning, St. Vincent’s Swim Across the Sound, part of St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation hosted their annual Cancer Survivor Breakfast. Approximately 500 survivors feasted at the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport, sponsored by Plasko Farm in Trumbull and received a stunning Swiss Army Watch courtesy of Victorinox Swiss Army based in Monroe, CT. As we munched on fresh fruit and French toast, we learned of the new Integrative Survivorship Clinic opening in January in the new building on the St. Vincent’s campus in Bridgeport. The mission of the Survivorship Program is to “provide the cancer survivor with a place for long term wellness in mind, body and spirit by providing education regarding best practices in survivorship and making recommendations for lifestyle changes utilizing the best of conventional and complimentary medicine combined.” The dedication will take place during the weekend of January 23 and 24, 2010. The Connecticut Challenge was generously acknowledged for being a partner with St. Vincent’s and we are grateful for that honor.
